get a quote for aerial and satellite imagery

Background

Founded in 1919, Halliburton is one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the energy industry. Halliburton approached Creative Map Solutions to design a custom aerial/satellite image map showing the Permian Basin in Texas to be displayed in their conference room.  The area of interest covered over 282,800 sq. miles (732,500 sq. kilometers).

The Solution

Creative Map Solutions obtained over 90 separate LandSat 8 satellite images for the satellite image photo composite. The tiles were merged together and color balanced. Anomalies, such as clouds, were edited out in Photoshop. A proprietary technique was applied to the LandSat imagery by superimposing exaggerated shaded relief resulting in a more visually appealing piece.

Creative Map Solutions then compiled a base map (which included the Permian Basin outline, county boundaries, major roads, and cities) and overlaid that information onto the satellite imagery.

The resulting delivered product was 36 x 36 inches (92 x 92 cm). Halliburton mounted the map on the back of 0.25-inch clear Plexiglass panels with brushed metal posts on each corner. The map is currently being displayed in a Halliburton conference room.
